June 15 Event Will Send Two Winners to Maui
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 15, 2008 ) – The American Red Cross Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter is proud to partner with Mercedes-Benz of Palm Beach for their Annual Golf Tournament to take place on June 15 at PGA National on the Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens with all proceeds to benefit the local Red Cross chapter.
“We are honored to partner with the American Red Cross for this annual event,” said Jim Balogh, Tournament Director and Senior Sales Associate at Mercedes-Benz of Palm Beach. “The Red Cross does so much throughout the Palm Beach area and the opportunity to give back to such a valuable organization is very important to us.”
Beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a shot-gun start, the tournament players will enjoy 18 holes of golf on the Champion Course, contests throughout the day and fantastic raffles for prizes including a three-day/two-night stay at PGA National, a two-night stay at Hotel Biba, a four-hour cruise with Barton & Gray Mariners Club, gifts baskets from Mont Blanc and Sephora, and gift cards from Tire Kingdom, Dent Wizard and Ristorante Saporrisimo.
The top two players from the event will go on to play in the Mercedes-Benz Championship tournament at the Kaanapali Golf Resort in Maui, Hawaii, the 2009 PGA TOUR season-opening event and one of the most prestigious on the PGA TOUR. The winning team and low medalist in Maui will go on to the International competition in Stuttgart, Germany.
Bill Degnan of Delray Beach and Mark Liebowitz of West Palm Beach were last year’s local winners who continued on to place in the top 20 at the Maui tournament. Liebowitz was also the low medalist in Maui and secured his spot at the International competition in Stuttgart.
“Our sincere thanks goes out to Mercedes-Benz of Palm Beach,” said Wilfredo Rosario, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter. “Through generous funding from our community partners, like Mercedes, we are able to provide valuable resources including disaster relief, CPR training, military supplies and outreach, and help to fire victims throughout the community.”
